For our Critical Analysis paper we had to write a five page paper on a movie called Beautiful Girls. It was a very popular movie in the early 1990’s, it is also one of the best ensemble movies out there. We had to analyze it and point out the movies main arguments and if the movie achieved its goal of convincing the audience. The movie was composed of a stellar cast, which allowed just about anyone to identify themselves with at least one character. Its about a group of friends that decide to get together for their first high school reunion. During their reunion only a few realized some grew up and other didn’t that is why the main argument of this movie was maturity. I enjoyed writing this paper because we did it on a movie I hadn’t seen before. So watching the movie was actually nice and the movie was also really good. It also allowed me to write and reflect on issue about life. I don’t think there was anything I disliked about this paper, it was a good one. The one thing I would have done different, is that I would probably have more people peer edit my paper. Maybe I would change the length of the paper, even though a the end I did end up using up the five pages. My favorite part of writing this paper was writing about Marty and Willy because I was a very mature 13 year old when I was a kid and I also met someone like Willy at the time. Life is like that we are kids then grow up and everyone takes their own path. Some succeed but others don’t, and some make it and some don’t. Theirs occasion when we get the opportunity to see our old friends and sometimes it saddens us to know they are not the same anymore or that they simply have never matured. Overall it was a good paper and a great movie to write about!
